For a convenient way to email us select Technical Support from the Help pad on the main menu and click on our email address. You can now purchase or renew online, select Print Order Form from the Tools pad on the main menu and then click on the bright yellow box! Forms571 data files are located in the \dbf folder that resides under the main program folder usually called \forms571 or \win571L. To backup your data files copy all of the files in the \dbf folder to another form of media. A single client may have many different locations as long as each location is doing business under the same tax identification number (FEIN or SSN). Select Technical Support from the Help pad on the main menu for links to our website and other important contact information. Each client location will generate its own separate 571 form. County Software has been in business since 1996. There are over 900 different businesses that use our Forms571 software each year. Our office is open regular business hours during the tax season, January through May. Off-season we are only open part-time. Each county assessor requires that you sign and return the original 571 form that they send out. You must sign the county's original 571 form and include the forms generated by this software as attachments to it. If you encounter any problems with the acceptance of our forms by any county contact us first and we will rectify the situation with that county immediately. Once your data is entered into Forms571 it will be retained and automatically rolled forward each year. Software updates are posted each year on our website at www.countysoftware.com or on CD-ROM by request. You can preview the Form 571 on the screen before printing. To exit the Print Preview screen either click on the Open Door Icon or press the Escape key. The county assessor database is not updated annually allowing you to customize your county database and make any changes you deem necessary at your convenience throughout the year. To restore the default county database, delete the file county.dbf from your program directory. It will be regenerated the next time you enter the program. The trial version of Forms571 is a fully functional version of the software. The trial version prints the words "DEMO" on all of the forms and schedules. Licensing will disable the "DEMO" spoiler. They are very similar. We offer both forms. Certain California counties require the 571-L or 571-F, others the 571-A form. Always use the form that is provided by the county. When deciding whether you are a 571-L, 571-F or 571-A filer, use the same one provided by the county assessor. You can print 571 forms for previous years as far back as 1996 by selecting Tools on the main menu and choosing the option- Select Tax Form Year. When printing prior year forms Forms571 uses data from previous years but the format from the current tax year. Be sure and notify us if your address, phone or email address changes. Log onto our website for a quick and easy way to keep us informed. Choose the Info button from the Location list screen for an easy-to-use workflow tracking system that will help you to ensure processing of all your clients 571 forms. Open as many clients as you need. To toggle between them select Window from the main menu and click on the client name. To close all of your open clients at once select File from the main menu and choose the option - Close All. To merge multiple sets of Forms571 data contact us. We can perform this service for a nominal fee. Your license key is based on your company name. If your company name changes, log onto our website to order a new license key. To save time when changing cover letters, highlight the changed text, copy it to the clipboard, and paste it into the next cover letter. The "Validate Data Files" option on the Tools menu solves many problems. Run it at any time as long as no one else is using the program. The Batch Printing screen only includes locations that have been updated during the current tax year. A client location is updated the first time you open the form after installing the annual update. To open the form select a client in the Client List screen by clicking on the client, choosing the location, and then clicking on the 571 button. If you prefer to update all locations at once without opening them first you can run the Version Update tool which is included on the CD. The file is named Vers9upd.exe.
